Bougainvillea Glabra

A climbing shrub with long, strong thorny branches. Its true beauty lies in the triple bracts found together all over the plant, making it intensely colourful, having just a white, practically unnoticeable small flower in the middle. The bracts remain on the plant throughout the hot months, they then turn green, then brown and eventually dry out.

Cordyline Australis

The Cordyline is a shrub which originated in New Zealand and does not tend to grow higher than 1.5 metres when grown in a pot. Its leaves are almost 1m long and are spear shaped and curved. The fragrant white flowers are of a spiked shape, although when indoors, it does not tend to flower. Flowers appear in spring once the plants are over 8 years old.

An evergreen, super compact round bush with slender elliptical leaves. Its small, creamy-white pink-tinged fragrant flowers, appear from June to August. It has juicy purple berries, which stay on the branches, decorating the tree. Nerium oleander

The compactness and spectacular long-lasting flowering of this shrub have led to it becoming the symbol of the Mediterranean summer. Its spear-shaped, evergreen leaves grow together in groups of 2 to 3 and are of a medium-green colour. Flowering depends on the variety of plant and it may be just one flower on its own or two, which are not particularly fragrant but they do come in a range of colours, and last the whole summer.

Nandina Doméstica

This is an extremely decorative plant which grows in a similar way to the bamboo and reaches almost 2m in height. Its leaves are compound and spear-shaped and change colour as they grow, initially red, then green and finally back to red again before falling from the plant. It flowers in summer in spiked bunches of about 20 cm in size which eventually give pretty red fruit in the shape of little red balls.
