Cassia Corymbosa
Common name: Black branch.
Semi-evergreen plant which can grow to around 2.5m in height. Its long, alternate feather-looking oval shaped leaves (with a slightly pointed tip), interestingly, curl back on themselves at nighttime. Another aspect worth noting is the plentiful 5 petaled flowers. They tend to be used to form dense hedges or by themselves, and are even planted in pots as small trees.
Resistant to mild frosts. Its height and long-lasting yellow flower (6 months of the year) make this plant an ideal option as a bushy hedge or decorative shrub.
Origin: Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina.
Sun. Little water.
