Rosmarinus officinales

This is an evergreen shrub which can reach heights of up to 2m. Its leaves are a dark green colour on the top and of a white woolly colour and texture on the underside. The edges of the leaves roll inwards and have a pleasant balsamic scent. The flowers tend to be blue although they may sometimes be white or pink.

It can be grown in a vegetable plot or herb garden to form small hedges or in pots and flowerbeds. It is used in cooking, to prepare essential oils and in natural medicine where, due to its properties, it can be used to treat stomach upsets, pain spasms, for regulating the menstrual cycle or for diuretic purposes.
